Every piece we list is checked in person by our team before it's authenticated and offered for sale. We don't rely on a single detail — hardware, stitching, leather grain, stamps and serial or date codes are all checked against house-specific references, because counterfeiters who get one detail right rarely get all of them right.
What We Check
- Hardware: weight, engraving precision, plating tone and screw alignment, checked against genuine reference pieces for that house and era.
- Stitching: stitch type, spacing and tension consistency across every seam.
- Leather and materials: grain pattern, texture and finish specific to the leather type claimed for that piece.
- Stamps, serials and date codes: cross-referenced against known formats and production eras for that house — a correct-looking code alone is never treated as sufficient proof.
- Interior construction: lining material, tag placement and finishing quality.
A piece that doesn't clear every check isn't listed. This is the same process behind every product page on the site, and it's the reason we can offer the details we do — condition notes, materials and confirmed authenticity — on every listing.
House-Specific Guides
We've published the specifics of what we check for the houses we carry most: Hermès Birkin & Kelly, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
